
Hugh McAuley
Hugh McAuley is the former Liverpool FC Youth Coach and Reserve Team Coach from 1988 – 2009. Hugh holds a UEFA A License Advanced Coaching certification from The FA. Hugh is a member of Professional Footballers Assocation, League Managers Association, Professional Football Coaches Association and Football Association Coaching Association. He has many years of experience of working with young aspiring footballers and has a proven track record in helping young players progress to professional football clubs around the world.
As a player Hugh signed for Liverpool in 1970. He also played for Tranmere Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Charlton, Carlisle United and Formby. He helped develop Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler and Jay Spearing during his spell at the Academy.
Andy McAuley
Andy has experience of coaching players at Premier League Clubs and has coached players around the world.
As a UEFA B Licensed Coach Andy has completed courses in the technical and theory elements of football. The technical elements include advanced technical practices, squad practices, pattern drills, wave practices, functional practices, phases of play and small sided games. The UEFA B License theory elements include the philosophy of coaching, consideration of how players learn, study of both coaching styles and communication processes, detailed consideration of player analysis, the psychological factors associated with player performance, consideration of the key elements related to coaching session delivery, the development of progressive coaching sessions & comprehensive coaching session evaluation and reflection.


Barry McAuley
Barry began his career as a youngster at Liverpool FC. He has also played semi-pro for Southport FC and Skelmersdale United.
With experience of coaching at Premier League Clubs and around the world, Barry is currently a Level 2 FA Coach and is well on his way to becoming UEFA B Licensed.
All coaches at the Academy are FA certified, and are all First Aid trained and CRB checked.
